On website company has to maintain a good price, so as to provide (or atleast show) a good margin for their dealers to work upon. If the company will itself start selling it as lower price, its dealers (who are company’s besr salesman) will lose interest in thier product. The company’s website price act as a benchmark for discounts being offered by dealer to costomers.
Secondly, while booking directly on company’s website, there is general human tendency to trust it more and for that additional trust, company charges premium.
Third is competition. There is no competition on company’s website. While on Amazon there are number of buyers competing to grab maximum sales.
Forth reason is the marketing strategy. For example, on our website Buy Dish TV, Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV and Videocon D2H we offer pretty lower rate for Dish TV and Tata Sky, probably the lowest over the internet. This is because our purpose at this moment is to take our website to as many people as possible, so that it can develop as one stop destination for all DTH needs.
